Nat Segal is a profressional freeride and backcountry skier.
Based in Revelstoke, the Interior BC mountains are a constant source of inspiration for Nat’s creative outlook on skiing.
For six years Nat traveled the world as a top competitor in freeride skiing events taking podiums on both the Freeride and Freeskiing World Tours while based out of the USA and Chamonix Mont-Blanc.
In 2014 in collaboration with five other women, Nat had her first taste of her career beyond competition skiing on a ski-sail expedition to southern Greenland that included nine, first descents in southern Greenland and provided the perfect jumping off point for her future career pursuing ski expeditions and films, as well as a working as a film producer.

Mountain Joy
The mountains bring us so much joy but what happens when movement in them brings you pain?
Mountain Joy is a short film I produced over winter 2024 as I worked to forge a new path in the mountains following several years of managing chronic pain, which would later be diagnosed as ankylosing spondylitis. In an industry that celebrates pain, this film explores the challenges of navigating and managing a chronic disease while being active for a living.
Full film will be release December 16th 2024.

Films
Nat has been involved in several ski expeditions and action-sports films at both an athlete and a producer and has experience fundraising, developing and producing content for ski projects.
In 2016 she teamed up with her sister, Anna Segal and adventure filmmaker, Bjarne Salén to produce award-winning documentary, Finding The Line, which uses skiing as a vehicle to explore fear and how we as humans deal with this emotion.
